"Doubles" Crazy Gift Exchange
This is a variation of the classic Christmas gift exchange and can be a lot of fun. As the host, you first decide if everyone will get a present or if there will be a limited number of presents. The game will be most exciting if there are a limited number of presents.
Depending on the size of your guest list, collect a range of items to serve as the presents. They can be joke or white elephant gifts, inexpensive kitchen gadgets or linens, nice bath products, candy - you decide. Then wrap the gifts in packages of varying size and decorations. Make it interesting by varying the type of boxes or wrapping paper used, as your guests will select boxes based on how they look and what they think is inside.
At the shower, you'll need a set of dice, along with a tray to roll the dice on and a timer. Gather the guests in a circle and place the presents in a stack in the center. Set the timer for about 10 minutes (or more if you have many guests). Remind guests that no presents can be opened until after the game has ended!
Beginning with the bride, each guest will roll the dice. If she rolls doubles, she can select a gift from the center pile. Proceed around the circle of guests until every present is taken from the center. Now for part two of the game!
Until the timer goes off, guests continue trying to roll for doubles. When a guest rolls doubles, they can trade a gift they have with another guest, or they don't have a gift yet, they take a gift from another guest.
When the timer goes off, the presents are opened. It's funny to see what is in the packages that the guests were fighting for!
